About our foodbank

Here is an introduction to our project.

Our foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area.

It was set up in 2013 in the basement of the Methodist church at the top of Main Street, following a lot of hard work making the premises suitable, and officially opened by MP Tim Farron on the 8th June.

On average we support 26 households per week which is a total number of almost 50 people comprising 35 adults and 15 children. Demand for our service is increasing.
