SPAR helps feed our community

The new SPAR Bowness store continues to support the Food Bank with amazing donations. The wonderful young team at SPAR have continued to supply the Food Bank with fresh bread, rolls and scones from the store several times a week. Importantly, this has meant we no longer have to purchase bread! Pictured is Natalie helping load our van with 6 trugs of bread. Thanks to all the staff and their strong sense of community support.

The support provided by this donation has gone straight into out commmunity and has led to comments such as those below.

“I just wanted to say thank you to you and your team at the food bank for my food parcel today. It’s really given me a boost to get through this month. This time last year I was the headchef at one  of the best restaurants in Cumbria, I’ve won many awards in my career and I’ve always contributed on my weekly shopping trip to the food bank!! Never in a million years did I think that I would ever have to rely upon this service! I’m very grateful and very humble, I will be back on my feet in no time and I will most certainly be in a position to support and help the best I can ! Thanks again”
